The true home of the Kansas City Chiefs is KCTV5, Meredith Broadcasting's CBS affiliate in Kansas City. KCTV5 recently secured the pre-season rights to telecast four Chiefs pre-season games via the newly formed Chiefs Television Network.
KCTV5, the flagship television station of the Chiefs Television Network, has expanded the pre-season network to include 12 Midwest affiliates, including KWCH in Wichita, WIBW in Topeka, KXVO in Omaha, KDEB in Springfield, KMIZ in Columbia, KODE in Joplin, KWBT in Tulsa, Sioux City's KMEG, KYXA/KFXB in Cedar Rapids, KPWB in Des Moines and KQTV in St. Joseph.

Chiefs pre-season games will now reach approximately 4.5 million television households each week, a gain of nearly 2 million viewers per-week over last year's broadcasts!

Veteran sports anchor Roger Twibell and former Kansas City Chief Jayice Pearson will serve as the voices of the Chiefs Television Network. Twibell, a 31-year veteran of sports reporting, has been a fixture on ESPN golf telecasts and has been a part of ABC Sports' golf coverage, which has included the network's coverage of all major tournaments. Pearson played cornerback in the NFL for eight seasons; seven of them in a Chiefs uniform. Since his playing days Pearson has worked as color commentator for high school and college football games on Time Warner Cable's Metro Sports channel and is heading into his fourth season as a commentator for ESPN's college football coverage. Pearson has also co-hosted Metro Sports' "Chiefs Post Game" for the past six years.

KCTV5 will also televise twelve regular season games, AFC playoff games and Super Bowl XXXVIII to Kansas City area viewers.

"We are extremely pleased to be both the pre-season and regular season home of Chiefs football", said Kirk Black, Vice President and General Manager of KCTV5. "Kansas City area viewers and our Chiefs Television Network affiliates can now rely on KCTV5 to provide the Midwest's most comprehensive Chiefs football coverage."
