Patricia Deal Cahill Nominated To CPB Board

President BARACK OBAMA has nominated the GM of KANSAS CITY's public radio station to THE CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING, reports FOX4KC-TV. "The Senate must approve the nomination of PATRICIA DEAL CAHILL to the federal board. If approved, CAHILL would serve on the board of the corporation charged with allocating more than $400 million annually to noncommercial television and radio stations.

CAHILL has run KCUR-F since 1987.

CAHILL said MONDAY she was told she would be the first active public radio station manager on the board. She will keep her job at KCUR and at the UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI-KANSAS CITY, where she is assistant professor of communications studies.
